Caption: Figure 1.

A comparison of selected previously published spectrophotometric measurements of the large Uranian satellites in the optical. The data points for each spectrum were digitized from figures in appropriate publications, then have been normalized to the geometric albedo for each body determined by E. Karkoschka (2001) in the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) WFPC2 F547M filter: Ariel, 0.532; Umbriel, 0.259, Titania, 0.347, Oberon, 0.314. The approximate wavelength range of the F547M filter is denoted by vertical dotted lines. Abbreviations refer to the following works: J1978—P. E. Johnson et al. (1978); B1979—J. F. Bell et al. (1979); M1987—R. Marcialis & U. Fink (1987); B1990—B. Buratti et al. (1990); and K2001—E. Karkoschka (2001). The J1978 data are dubious shortward of ∼0.5 μm, as discussed in the text.
