Probability distribution function of gas in the density–temperature plane from an isolated dwarf galaxy simulation performed with GAMER. An animation is available that spans 0–750 Myr with a real-time duration of 47 s. After ∼100 Myr, the interstellar medium reaches thermal balance against radiative cooling, becoming dominated by diffuse warm gas with density ∼10⁻²⁵ g cm⁻³ and temperature ∼10⁴ K.
