Altitude-fixed vertical profiles of (a) temperature, (b) pressure, and (c) density under dusty (green) and quiescent (blue) conditions from MCD v.6.1. Shaded regions indicate the interquartile range of the sampled model states. The pressure profile is referenced to fixed geometric altitude levels in the extracted MCD dataset and therefore should not be interpreted as the local surface pressure. The dusty atmosphere is systematically warmer and more vertically expanded through much of the lower and middle atmosphere, consistent with storm-time radiative heating and enhanced column inflation.
