Variation of maximum release intensities with connection angle. Amplitudes for the same event are marked by the same symbols (as in Figure 2) and connected by a Gaussian distribution centered at zero longitude, with standard deviation ﹩\sigma =30^\circ ﹩. Assuming this variation with connection angle for the four events, the maximum release at IMP-8's footpoint would be about one order of magnitude smaller than the one inferred in Section 4 for the Helios-1 footpoint.
