Comparison between the retrieved abundances (left) and abundance ratios (C/O; right) from the retrieval presented in Y. Shu et al. (2026, diamonds) and our CRIRES+ retrievals (circles). We compare to all three retrieval setups presented in Y. Shu et al. (2026), including the two using the high-resolution preeclipse IGRINS data only (high- resolution spectroscopy) and the joint IGRINS + HST + Spitzer retrieval. We find that while the abundances vary between the different datasets and retrieval setups, the abundance ratios are highly consistent and all point toward a solar or slight supersolar C/O. The solar and stellar C/Os and their uncertainties are plotted as a horizontal blue line (M. Asplund et al. 2009) and a horizontal orange line (R. da Silva et al. 2024), respectively. CoRoT-2 has a measured C/O that is slightly subsolar (0.36 ± 0.11; R. da Silva et al. 2024), which makes the potentially elevated carbon abundance slightly more robust.
