The left panel shows the 80% detection threshold (i.e., the magnitude where 80% of injected test sources were recovered at ≥5σ) calculated by DETECT after injecting a galaxy and a star in the science image, and only a galaxy in the template image in Rubin DP0. This was done repeatedly for different magnitudes of the star and galaxy. The right panel shows which areas of this parameter space would be counted as detections by comparing the 80% detection threshold to the magnitude of the injected star.
