Efficiency as a function of magnitude. The dashed line gives the efficiency for those quasar candidates that we consider most robust ( good ⩾ 0). While the efficiency is low at the bright end, so are the absolute numbers of objects (see Figure 2); thus, the overall contamination from bright objects is relatively small.
