Predicted 0.5–8 keV X-ray surface brightness (left columns) and temperature distribution (right columns) of circumnuclear medium shocked by the expanding hot winds within central 10 pc for M81* at t = 4000 yr (upper panels) and t = 10,000 yr (lower panels). Strong X-ray emitting regions coincide with ∼10⁷ K gas. Hot winds continuously push the circumnuclear medium outward.
