Constraints on the maximum Eddington ratio that could be observed in a broad-line quasar as a function of redshift. Symbols are as in Figure 5. There is no evidence for significantly super Eddington radiation, and the maximum value of L/ L _Edd for quasars implied by our BHERF is L/ L _Edd ~ 3.
