Redshift distribution (22 spectroscopic redshifts and 86 photometric redshifts) for the Herschel-selected DOG sample (black histogram). The blue filled histogram shows the subpopulation of DOGs detected in X-rays with the COSMOS Chandra Legacy Survey, while the red hatched histogram shows the subpopulation of DOGs classified as AGNs according to the mid-to-far-IR SED fitting. A KS test performed on these last two distributions indicates that they are drawn from a different parent population with a probability of 6 × 10−3.
