Dynamics of the instability at higher R_m. Volume renderings of B² are shown for case M3 at times ﹩t=200.0﹩, 205.5, 211.0, 216.5, 222.0, 227.4. It can be seen that magnetic structures emerge from the localized shear but are now irregular in shape and nonperiodic in time, although they are still x‐invariant.
