CBOE. In low-loss media, forward scattering preserves the ray’s initial polarization. Time-reversed ray-path pairs return in phase and constructively interfere, enhancing radar returns in a narrow cone about the backscatter direction. This increase in the received SC polarization leads to elevated CPRs and can be used to identify an ice-like subsurface. This image is illustrative only and not indicative of any actual simulation.
