Initial energy density profiles for the maximum fluence (at normal incidence to the surface) in the 2D-axisymmetric Ares simulation (black), the 3D Spheral setup (blue circles), and the 1D Spheral column (red). Each simulation models a 150 m homogeneous SiO2 asteroid at 20% porosity, subjected to a 300 kt NED with a 1 keV blackbody spectrum at a 5 m HOB. The close agreement among the energy profiles demonstrates consistent energy initialization across different geometries.
