Regolith mass in orbit vs. time for a radial ejection around Chariklo from the long axis. Test particle regoliths are marked by the dotted lines and massive particle regoliths by the solid lines. Regolith particles are lost from the system extremely quickly across all velocity ranges, regardless of particle type, showing that radial ejections are not favorable for regolith capture. Simulations are parameterized by the initial vejection.
