Global melt fraction during the GRE epoch. Higher hydrogen abundances correspond to more extensive melting. Similar to Figure 3, late-stage H2O release enhances greenhouse warming as melt fraction declines, reducing atmospheric energy flux more strongly at higher fO2 and allowing weaker tides to maintain higher melt fractions.
