Comparison of the Ca II H & K and IRT line profiles between XSL spectra (black) and A1 templates (red). The left panels show ﹩{V}_{{\rm{mic}}}={V}_{{\rm{mic}}}^{{\rm{t}}}﹩, and the right panels show ﹩{V}_{{\rm{mic}}}={V}_{{\rm{mic}}}^{{\rm{t}}}+2\,{\rm{km}}\,{{\rm{s}}}^{-1}﹩. The upper panels display the hot, metal-rich star HD 102634, while the lower panels display the cool, metal-poor star HD 190404; neither star exhibits obvious emission cores. The panel titles list the stellar name, Teff, ﹩\mathrm{log}g﹩, [Fe/H], [α/Fe], and the adopted Vmic and Vmac. The residual spectra are vertically shifted to unity for clarity. The gray shaded regions mark the 1 Å line-core windows. The templates are convolved to the XSL resolving power of λ/Δλ = 9774.
