Relationship between the systemic kick (vsys) and the companion mass (Mc) of the COMPAS binaries described in Section 5. The left panel shows this relationship, where the intensity denotes the presupernova orbital period. We note that these binaries are selected such that their postsupernova orbital period is less than 10 days. The right panel shows the bootstrapped confidence intervals, similarly to Figure 4, both for Mc ≤ 1.2 M (light gray region) as well as Mc > 1.2 M (dark gray region), with medians described by the solid line and dotted line, respectively.
