Comparison of dereddening results for two sources, FU Ori (red) and V960 Mon (blue), shown on top of the disk model (black) to which the observed spectra were dereddened. All spectra are normalized at 1.67 μm. The overall match is excellent over the YJH region, albeit with some variation. At the K band, while FU Ori is quite well-modeled, the V960 Mon flux is significantly brighter than in the model. Even though a K-band excess over the disk model is not always present, we systematically disregard the K-band region in our dereddening procedure, fitting only the YJH region.
