Top panel: the region around the Hα line of the SDSS spectra is shown for the three mass-transferring CV candidates. Bottom panel: coadded SDSS spectra and available archival photometry are shown for the same three systems. The absolute fluxes of the coadded spectra are adjusted to match the photometry. In two of these systems we see a clear infrared excess either in the red end of the SDSS spectrum or in infrared photometry, indicating the presence of a mass-transferring nondegenerate companion.
