Caption: Figure 11.
Median bias vs. injected L wh at T = 300 K, split by host SED family. Positive bias at low L wh is the expected behavior of a cap estimator in the presence of nondetections (floor at ≈kσ) and unsubtracted host MIR continuum. The three SED families converge toward small bias at high L wh. As expected, the bias is largest for SB at the faint end (strongest MIR continuum) and decreases toward small values at high L wh, where the cap floor is negligible relative to the injected signal.
