Mass–size relation of early-type galaxies when half-light semimajor axes are used. The half-light semimajor axes are calculated by dividing the half-light radii derived in Section 3.2 by square root values of the axis ratios from SDSS DR7. All symbols are the same as those in Figure 10. Use of a half-light semimajor axis increases the sizes of the early-type galaxies, but it does not change our main conclusion.
