Example of an image showing two newly discovered Hα dots. The top panel is the continuum R-band image of UGC 2134 (the spiral in the center of the image), and the lower panel shows the Hα continuum-subtracted image of the same field. The two Hα dots in the image are circled. The dots appear as compact and isolated emission-line sources that are well separated from the galaxy that was the target of the Hα observations.
