Completeness curves for the galaxy survey as a function of impact parameter to the quasar. The curves refer to limiting magnitudes ﹩R_{\mathrm{lim}\,}=18﹩, 19, 19.5, and 20 mag. The measurement is a direct evaluation for galaxies within 10﹩\arcmin﹩ of the quasar. At radii greater than 10﹩\arcmin﹩, the incompleteness is primarily due to the discontiguous coverage of the flanking fields (Fig. 2). At these radii, we used the surface density of objects within 10﹩\arcmin﹩ to estimate the incompleteness in the discontiguous regions.
