Logarithm of the number density is shown for the slab symmetric simulation C32 at a time of about 8 cloud‐crushing times ﹩t_{\mathrm{cc}\,}﹩ (﹩3.45\times 10^{9}﹩ s) after the beginning of the interaction; ﹩t_{\mathrm{cc}\,}﹩ is the time to maximum compression of the unfragmented cloud after the beginning of the interaction.
