An example of a temporal image pair and corresponding temporal image ratio that suppresses local albedo variations and highlights reflectance variations due to the formation of a 35 m diameter crater. (a) LROC NAC M180558210L/R was acquired on 2012 January 7 with an incidence angle of 74°, an emergence angle of 0°, and a phase of 74°. (b) LROC NAC M1218351993L/R was acquired on 2016 May 20 with an incidence angle of 75°, an emergence angle of 3°, and a phase of 74°. (c) The temporal image ratio is calculated by dividing the after image (b) by the before (a) image and shows a bright halo surrounding the impact site and darker, distal rays extending hundreds of meters from the impact site.
