Caption: Figure 24.

Accretion rates for the multistreamer simulations with a total mass infall rate of ﹩{\dot{M}}_{{\rm{in}},{\rm{total}}}=1{0}^{-6}\,{M}_{\odot }\,{{\rm{yr}}}^{-1}﹩ in the Up–Up (left) and Up–Down (right) configurations. The pressure-weighted Reynolds stress, αRϕ, is shown in the background. Unlike the single-streamer model (Figure 10), neither configuration produces a strong accretion outburst. However, the enhanced turbulence generated in the Up–Down model leads to a final accretion rate approximately twice that of the Up–Up model.
