Fraction of projected area where inflows and outflows are kinematically distinguishable as a function of kinematic resolution for eight UV emission lines. Values represent the percentage of pixels from Figure 11 in which the absolute difference between inflow and outflow projected velocities exceeds the given kinematic resolution threshold. At low resolution (300 km s−1), fewer than 20% of regions are distinguishable, while ∼60% can be resolved at 100 km s−1. A resolution of <30 km s−1 is required to distinguish inflow from outflow across more than 80% of the CGM area in all ions.
