Distribution of source density on the plane of the sky for stars we model in Section 4.1.1, the majority of which will be used in the line-of-sight dust reconstruction. The VVV footprint (purple polygon) shows a modest increase in source density in comparison to the rest of the DECaPS2 footprint. The median source density is 70 stars per arcmin2, with an interquartile range of 37–125 stars per arcmin2.
