Caption: Figure 18.

A flash observed by JWST’s guider at the same time as the discontinuity in the time-series data. The main panel shows the median background level in the 8 × 8 “postage stamp” guide exposures. The background spikes sharply at the moment of the PSF change. Insets compare a typical guide star image to the image at the time of the event. The flash morphology is consistent with a micrometeor strike. A comprehensive analysis of such events in FGS and science data will be presented in R. Telfer et al. (2026, in preparation).
