Simulated stellar Lyα emission and corresponding absorption by the interstellar medium for a star with a systemic RV of 0 km s−1 (upper panel) and with that of HD 60779, 130 km s−1 (lower panel). A systemic RV of 130 km s−1 would Doppler shift stellar Lyα emission out of the interstellar absorption band, giving us access to the entire Lyα feature. These plots were generated using the Lyapy code from A. Youngblood et al. (2016).
