Caption: Figure 1.

A volume rendering of a protostellar jet produced by a single 5 M star particle in a uniform 2.18 × 10−23 g cm−3 density background after 25.5 kyr. This volume rendering was generated from a simulation run using the jets branch of the Torch code (commit d43eab7 ) and has a field of view of ∼2.8 pc. The jet extends ∼3.2 pc away from the star in each direction in this snapshot. Note that although the injection weighting is smooth, as described in Section 3.5, hydrodynamical instabilities develop as the injected material propagates into the denser background material.
