After the solar color has been removed, the spectral slope of the asteroid is shown in the figure. The data of 2014 were taken from the S. S. Sheppard & C. Trujillo (2015), and corresponding color is ﹩{g}^{{\prime} }-{r}^{{\prime} }=0.43\pm 0.02﹩, ﹩{r}^{{\prime} }-{i}^{{\prime} }=0.14\pm 0.02﹩, ﹩{i}^{{\prime} }-{z}^{{\prime} }﹩ = –0.01 ± 0.02. The relatively flat spectral slope indicates that 2000 SY178 is a C-type asteroid.
