Simulated surface brightness profiles for a point source (solid line) and a cluster with the same flux (﹩{{R}_{c}}=100﹩ kpc, ﹩\beta =0.6﹩) at redshifts of ﹩z=0.2﹩, 0.6, 1.0, and 1.4 convolved with the Swift–XRT PSF. Even at redshift ﹩z=1.4﹩, clusters are clearly more extended than point sources.
