Identified filaments overlaid on the 850 μm dust continuum map. (a) The green lines are the filaments longer than 1′. The white diamonds and stars label the starless and protostellar sources identified in Peretto et al. (2014). The yellow and black segments display the larger than 3σ and 2–3σ polarization detections, rotated by 90° to represent magnetic field orientations. (b) Widths of the identified filaments. The filament widths increase with the local density, from ∼0.25 pc, close to the JCMT beam size, in the diffuse regions to ∼0.5 pc within the dense hub.
