Fractions of LERGs and controls showing minor and major tidal features, with panel (a) used to show the larger main control sample, and panel (b) showing the morphologically matched subset. The overall fractions are shown in the bar plots on the left, while the fractions in different stellar mass bins, specifically the interquartile range and the two extreme quartiles, are shown on the right. Here the dashed lines show the minor tidal feature fractions, and the solid lines show the fractions of galaxies with major tidal features. The LERG and control populations on the right are horizontally offset from each other for clarity. The excess of LERGs undergoing major interactions is clearly shown to be driven by the low-mass end of our sample. Red is used to represent the LERG population and gray/black represents the control sample.
