Spitzer 8.0 μm image of the jet of 3C 31 in 1 farcs2 pixels with 8.4 GHz radio contours overlaid, showing the relative location of the IR emission in the larger radio jet. The image was smoothed with a Gaussian 0 farcs6 wide after the stellar emission was subtracted. The 8.4 GHz contours are at 0.1, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 1.2, 2, and 20 mJy beam −1 (0 farcs69 × 0 farcs67 beam).
