(a) Color–magnitude diagrams of Galactic GCs. The photometry shown in Figure 11(a) through (g) was not corrected for reddening or extinction. Note the variety of HB morphologies. The vast majority of the objects in the CMD of 47 Tuc (NGC 104) and NGC 362 with (FUVAB–NUVAB) ≲ 1.5 are actually main-sequence stars from the Small Magellanic Cloud.
