FUV and NUV images of NGC 288, with a lower overall surface brightness than 47 Tuc, yet with a larger population of FUV sources—though not large enough to present problems for FUV photometry in the central regions. In the NUV, crowding is much more important, yet photometry at the resolution of GALEX is still achievable, though with lower precision.
