Quality of PSF modeling in a typical case: NGC 288 in the NUV. Crowding in the central regions is relatively high, at the resolution of GALEX, photometry is relatively inaccurate for stars within ~0 farcm5 from the cluster center. The PSF-subtracted image shows a diffuse residual, associated with the detection of NUV light from unresolved turnoff stars.
