Time evolution of VDEM profiles for two multiple‐loop models: (a) case ﹩\mathrm{A}\,^{\prime }_{1}﹩ and (b) case ﹩\mathrm{B}\,^{\prime }_{1}﹩ (θ = 0°). The VDEM is normalized to unit loop cross‐sectional area and has the units of ergs s⁻¹ cm⁻² (km s⁻¹)⁻¹. The velocity space resolution (Δv_ls) is set to be 3 km s⁻¹ (which is less than ~5 km s⁻¹, the wavelength bin size of the Yohkoh/BCS Ca XIX channel).
