Enlarged version of part of the spectrum of SBS 0335−052 to provide a better display of the several velocity components of the heavy element interstellar absorption lines S II λ1259, Si II λ1260, O I λ1302, Si II λ1304, and C II λ1335. The blueshifted velocity components are probably produced in fast‐moving clouds in SBS 0335−052 with velocities up to ~1500 km s−1. The Galactic O I λ1302, Si II λ1304, and C II λ1335 also show velocity splitting, probably due to infalling high‐velocity clouds, with infall velocities reaching ~500 km s−1. Note also the presence of the excited interstellar absorption lines O I*λ1306 and C II*λ1336, which are probably produced in the H II region.
