Surface temperature vs. time for the two different scenarios. Solid line: scenario A; dashed line: scenario B. For scenario B, after ∼100 days since the start of the surface cooling, the latent heat of crystallization is exhausted, and the surface temperature begins to drop faster than in Scenario A. This becomes more evident after ∼200 days.
