The running parallel MFP for a purely compressive field is shown in the left panel. Presently, a kinetic energy of EK = 70 MeV and a turbulence level of (δB/B0) = 1.3 are considered, as this parameter combination results in the lowest parallel MFP for all subunity values of Z. The perpendicular MFP, here computed for the same kinetic energy and variance, is shown in the panel on the right.
