Comparison between a 1° × 1° region from this work (left) and the corresponding area in NVSS (right), shown on the same intensity scale. Owing to the higher sensitivity and angular resolution of our observations, the left panel reveals a substantially larger population of compact radio sources. In this region, we detect 120 sources using a 5σ source-extraction threshold, compared to 34 sources identified in NVSS.
