Fraction of the surface polluted by magnetic accretion as a function of the white dwarf temperature T. The top panel shows the surface pollution fraction for different values of the octopole–dipole field ratio Γ with the inclination of the disk fixed at I = π/2. The middle panel shows the pollution fraction for variable inclination with Γ = 1. The bottom panel is the same as the middle panel, but the accretion disk is set to be circularly symmetric. In all cases, β = 0. Note that the y-axis scale is different between the top two panels and the bottom panel.
