SF history for the SIDM and CDM simulations. Both simulations have an initial burst of SF before reionization, which is quenched due to the increased UV background. The CDM run restarts SF more quickly, since the steeper DM profile funnels gas to the center more efficiently. By z = 0, there is a still a 25% difference in the total stellar mass formed: 1.9 × 106 and 2.5 × 106 M⊙ for SIDM and CDM, respectively.
