SIMP 0136+0933 MIRI and NIRSpec light curves constructed for the exosatellite transit injection-recovery testing conducted in this study. Note that the larger amplitudes and more complex variability structure at shorter wavelengths are typical of substellar atmospheres (e.g., A. M. McCarthy et al. 2025). The grouping corresponds to Figure 1 and Section 3.1. As pointed out by A. M. McCarthy et al. (2025), two full rotation periods can be viewed from 1–3.4 hr and 3.4–5.8 hr.
