Differences in signal-to-noise ratio (ΔS/N) are measured between the complete fiducial spectral template and templates omitting one opacity source at a time. Large positive ΔS/N > 1 values indicate a significant detection of the excluded opacity source (e.g., Fe), whereas near-zero values suggest that excluding or including the opacity source has little effect, indicating insignificant detection.
