Performance of the z_Reis neural-network photo-zs when compared to the VVDS and DEEP2 samples used in Figure 8. The z_Reis estimates were trained in part on these spec-zs but show larger scatter (σ_z) than the template fitting photo-z estimates compared in Figure 8. It is also more difficult to prune high-performing subsets of neural-network estimates.
