The continuum-normalized MIKE spectra centered on the Na D doublet for ZTF J0328−1219 (solid black line) and the two nearest comparison stars, HD 21634 (dotted blue line) and Gaia J0328−1216 (dashed–dotted red line). The vertical dashed lines denote the rest wavelengths of the Na D doublet. Neither comparison star shows any Na D absorption—in addition to their photospheric components—at the same velocity as those in ZTF J0328−1219, ruling out an interstellar origin.
